FORTIETH ANNUAL REDBUD CANOE POKER RUN RACE TO BE HELD ON APRIL 16

The Fortieth Annual Honaker Redbud Festival Canoe Race will be held on Sunday, April 16, 2023, at 1:30 p.m. Registration begins at 12:00 p.m. The race will begin at the Slate's Campground. Canoes and kayaks will end at the Puckett's Hole Canoe Access Area on the Clinch River. An entry fee of $10.00 per person will be required. No one under 18 years of age will be allowed to enter without parental consent and without an adult in the boat.   
       
This year's race is a Poker Run with a $100 prize for best hand and a $25 prize for the worst hand. The race will end at 5:00 p.m. If a boat has not reached the finish line by 5:00 p.m., a final card will be drawn for it and winners announced.          

Slate's Campground is on Route 672 just off Route 80 three miles south of Honaker and three miles north of Rosedale and US Route 19. The Puckett Hole Access Area is about 6 miles west of Blackford off State Route 652, just north of its intersection with State Route 640.
